Midivex v1.3.0: A Bigger, Smarter Midivex
Three new MIDI effects (Aftertouch, Chord, Layers), Patch Recall via MIDI, a multi-column FX panel, and an expanded free Lite tier.
Today we’re shipping the biggest Midivex release yet. Three new MIDI effects join the existing eight, the FX panel grows up to handle deep effect stacks, you can now recall any patch directly from a MIDI controller, and the free Lite tier opens up to include more of what makes Midivex useful.
Three new MIDI effects
Each one solves a real workflow problem. They’re tightly built, live-performance ready, and tagged in the MIDI monitor so you can see exactly what they’re doing.
- Aftertouch — firm up an over-sensitive synth, slew the response with attack and release controls, or remap aftertouch onto any CC or Pitch Bend so it can drive plugins that don’t natively respond to it.
- Chord — play rich voicings from a single key. Pick a scale, choose a voicing, and the engine builds the chord around the note you press. Great for live composition and one-finger pads.
- Layers — crossfade between two synths with any CC controller, or layer one on top of another with a fade-in. A simple way to build evolving textures from any two devices.
Patch Recall via MIDI
Every Midivex patch can now be assigned a CC or Program Change message that recalls it instantly. Map a foot controller, a hardware pad, or a track in your DAW, and switch entire studio configurations with a single message. Each patch can also auto-load a Route Profile on recall.
Multi-column FX panel
The FX panel now flexes into multiple columns when you stack a lot of effects on a route. Deep chains stay readable, the new effect picker has a pinnable drawer for the ones you reach for most, and the whole thing scrolls cleanly when it needs to.
A bigger free Lite tier
Lite has always included Arp. From v1.3.0 it also includes Chord and Tools, three of the most useful effects, available with no license. Pro keeps everything else: all 11 effects, unlimited routes, unlimited route profiles, MIDI Learn, virtual MIDI ports, and the rest of the deeper toolset.
